Esso is the new Porsche Motorsport team partner

The Porsche Motorsport works team tackles the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Esso as its new technology partner. When the world’s most famous long distance race takes off on the Circuit des 24 Heures on Saturday at 15.00 hours, the #91 and #92 Porsche 911 RSR contenders will be flying the Esso logo. Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy, the overall winners of the 2015 Le Mans classic, are two of the drivers who share the cockpit of the winning racer from Weissach. Like Mobil 1 who has supported Porsche for the last 20 years in its motor racing activities with its synthetic engine oils, Esso also belongs to ExxonMobil, the world’s largest publically-traded oil and gas company.

“Esso with Mobil 1 is proud to partner up with the successful Porsche Motorsport team,” says Hélène de Carné, the Retail Fuels Marketing Manager EAME at Esso. “As the defending champions of the Sports Car World Endurance Championship WEC and the winners of the manufacturer, driver and team titles, Porsche Motorsport is the perfect partner for ExxonMobil to develop the next generation of fuels and lubricants, which will deliver top performances on racetracks and roads. The fact that our partnership begins with a classic like Le Mans is simply fantastic.”

“I’m delighted to welcome Esso to our team just in time for possibly the toughest automobile race in the world,” says Head of Porsche Motorsport Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser. “Over the course of our partnership with Mobil 1, the technology and expertise from ExxonMobil were important factors for a great performance. The fact that this relationship has lasted for 20 years is testament to our shared passion for advanced technology and innovation both on and off the racetrack.”
