Porsche (China) Motors Limited to recall part of imported Boxster vehicles
Commencing from today, Porsche (China) Motors Limited will recall part of the imported Boxster vehicles manufactured on 1 September 2023. The recall was filed by Porsche China to the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Defective Automobile Products Recall Regulation and its implementation measures. The recall will affect a total of 12 vehicles.
On affected vehicles, the rear-end electronics control unit has been installed with incorrect coding due to errors during the production run. As a result, the rear spoiler may be elevated too high and influence the visibility of the raised brake light, and the vehicle's aerodynamics may be affected, increasing the risk of collision and posing a safety hazard.
Upon the recall taking effect, Porsche China will commission all authorised service centres nationwide to re-code the rear-end electronics control unit for the affected vehicles free of charge to avoid any consequential damage.
Porsche China will notify the relevant owner via registered mail, phone call, text message, etc. Affected users are encouraged to visit Porsche China's official website http://www.porsche.com/china or call the toll-free customer service centre hotline on 400 820 5911 or contact Porsche authorised dealers to find out more information about this recall. Users can also visit the website of the Defective Product Administrative Centre of the State Administration for Market Regulation (www.dpac.org.cn ), or its WeChat account (SAMRDPAC) for more information. In addition, users can also call the hotline of the Defective Product Administrative Centre of the State Administration for Market Regulation at 010-59799616 to report any problems in the implementation of the recall or submit defect evidence.
